Where do you make your money on defense in the NFL?
Well, what does money usually come in?
(If we all just pretend that joke didn’t happen, it can’t hurt us then, right?)
Today we’re talking edge rushers and interior defensive linemen. The only problem is, there might now be anything to talk about. I mean, when you look at the various draft experts and how they have these two position groups ranked, they seemingly all have the same name atop each list, and then two-through-whatever kinda get shuffled around a bit.
But with the edge rushers, is it really just Chase Young and then everybody else?
Why, yes. Yes it is.
Okay fine. But then what about the interior DL? Is it Derrick Brown as king of the mountain and then all those other dudes in whatever order?
I may be in the minority, but I have Javon Kinlaw (South Carolina) as my #1 interior DL from this class. I’m not going to go into details right here as to why, but there may just be a link below to a YouTube video where you can hear all of my thoughts on Mr. Kinlaw and the rest of his cohorts. And, well, call me biased, but I think you’ll really enjoy that.
Below are my rankings for both the edge rushers and the interior DL. As always, feel free to go through my lists while checking out the accompanying YouTube video/podcast in which Chandler Adams and I discussed each player’s pros and cons.
